Cruise Line: Swan Hellenic Times cruised before: 10+
Cruise Ship: Minerva II Sailed: February, 2007
Destination: South America Age: 56-65
My wife and I sailed on Minerva 11, during February 2007. The cruise started in Chile. It then continued to Cape Horn, The Falklands, Argentina, Uraguay then Brazil, finishing in Rio, which is probably the most beautiful port in the world.

Minerva 11 was a beautiful and elegant mid size ship, very well and tastefully appointed, just as advertised " A Country Hotel atmosphere".

Stateroom accomodation was also spacious and excellently appointed. The food and service was also first class.

A big plus with Swan Hellenic is that a selection of absolutly excellent shore excursions are included on all shore days. Passengers can take a morning and afternoon tour in most ports also. Unkike most Cruise lines the ship in in each port for up to 24 hours, so a real flavour of the destinations can be experienced.
Also there are Destination educational talks prior to each shore day. These talks are given by experts on the particular country being visited.

This Cruise line can not be compared with the mainstream "Resort" cruise lines. The passengers tend to be all adults and for the most part 40 yrs plus. You are not annoyed with announcements all the time, spoiling the voyage and almost all the passengers are well travelled.

My wife and I have lost count of the worldwide cruises we have sailed on during the last 40 years. We can honestly say this was possibly the best cruise we have been on. We did a segment of a South American circumnavigation and we were only sorry that time precluded us from diong two or more segments.

We are delighted that Swan Hellenic brand has re emerged with the original but smaller Minerva. Why not pamper yourself and enjoy the experience of a Swan Hellenic cruise. Also you will not need to worry about tipping, as they are included also.
